KEMPA seeks coordinator for Day Workshop Programs

The Kettle Moraine Press Association is seeking a COORDINATOR for DAY WORKSHOP PROGRAMS. The Coordinator for Day Workshop Programs is responsible for the coordination and development of KEMPA’s Day Workshops.

This program is a unique experience where scholastic journalism programs receive individualized instruction based on their programs’ needs. Day workshops are one to two days in length held at the host school.

    This is a sample schedule: 8:00 to 9:00 a.m.: Introductory Reporting 9:00 to 11: 00 a.m.: Photoshop CS6 Skills 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.: Lunch 12:00 to 2:00 p.m: InDesign Instruction 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.: Maestro Planning

The coordinator must be organized to recruit and schedule workshops. The coordinator is required to seek out instructors for the day workshops, as well as manage financial matters associated with them. The coordinator will report to the KEMPA board, but is not required to be a member of the board.

This position would be perfect for a KEMPA member who might be unable to commit to a board position, but would still want to get involved. The position will be a year-long position that will begin in November and can be renewed yearly with mutual agreement.

Applications should include a resume and letter explaining why you would like this position and feel you are qualified.

For more information or to submit an application, please contact KEMPA Executive Director, Linda Barrington, MJE, at [email protected].

The Kettle Moraine Press Association (KEMPA) is a non-profit scholastic press association that supports and enhances scholastic journalism programs in middle and high schools in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
